carsFarouk Hosny: The Energy of Abstraction
NEW MOAFL EXHIBITION FEATURES CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS FROM EGYPT’S MINISTER OF CULTURE FAROUK HOSNY

Furthering the wave of interest in Egyptian art that began when the King Tut exhibition visited Fort Lauderdale in 2006, Floridians now have the opportunity to explore works from one of the country’s most prominent contemporary artists and Egypt’s Minister of Culture, Farouk Hosny, who has transformed the eternal signs of his native country into restless, calligraphic gestures using vivid colors evocative of the Egyptian landscape.

This dynamic exhibition of twenty abstract paintings will be on view until April 15, 2008. More...
