What was Andy Warhol really like? Join us for a fascinating and informal behind-the-scenes discussion with Tropic Magazine Editor-in-Chief, John O’Connor, who worked for years under Andy Warhol on Interview magazine in the 1980s and who co-authored Unseen Warhol with Benjamin Liu, a book that chronicles the energy and excitement of The Factory through the recollections of its denizens and visitors, including "Baby Jane" Holzer, Billy Name Debbie Harry, Stephen Sprouse, Kenny Scharf, Bob Colacello and others.

Beaux Arts of Fort Lauderdale hosts its 25th annual holiday kick-off fundraiser with proceeds benefiting the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale, Young at Art and Funding Arts Broward. World-renowned artist, Michael Israel will be our headline performer and the paintings created during his performance will be auctioned in a live auction. The event features DJ Sandman, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and a silent auction.
The event will take place within the much anticipated Warhol and Cars: American Icons “Fueled by PNC Bank” exhibition that opens at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale on November 10th and runs through February 10th, 2013.

The Shark Riddle, is a half-hour shark film for the whole family. Follow siblings Laura and Robert on an adventure through the pages of a magical journal to solve a mysterious riddle about shark teeth. This film shows how scientists tag and monitor the migratory patterns of great white sharks. The researchers identify the sharks by the pattern of the trailing edge of their dorsal fins and have seen one individual, “Tom Johnson”, for 25 years. The knowledge gained by this research is more evidence that these maligned predators are essentially benign towards humans. (45minutes).
